He asked. She said, yes. Here's how it all went down.

One afternoon Jon surprised Leona with an invitation, "Come with me somewhere." "Are we going engagement ring shopping?!" she asked.

This sort of invitation, and subsequent conversation, eliminates any element of a surprise proposal.....at least that's what Leona thought!

Leona eagerly took Jon up on his invitation and he assured her he'd quickly follow it up with another one, a proposal.

Many proposal-less weeks later, Leona had become a "tad" "impatient" and voiced her disappointment (behind the closed door of the laundry room).

Jon did his best to delicately explain that although he had hoped to propose to her before their trip to Puerto Rico, there was a problem with her engagement ring and it would have to wait until they returned.

A few short days later, the couple found themselves on the island of Puerto Rico. Leona was thoroughly convinced that although they were there to look for wedding venues, she would do so as a a girlfriend and not a fiancee.

Jon, however, knew better. He tricked Leona into thinking that problems with the ring would delay their engagement when in fact, he had the ring for sometime and managed to get it through security, all the way to Puerto Rico, without Leona noticing.

So when on the first morning of their vacation Jon turned to Leona and said "You look nice. But you'd look much better with this (flashed the prettiest ring you could possibly imagine" all Leona could think to say was, "You have it!"

.....she said yes! a few moments later.
